Tis the season to be noggin’. You should really chai it.
Time to dust off the ol’ dad jokes and get back to posting again…. you know what they say, better late than pregnant!
I have so many life updates that you’d likely be pouring alcohol into this mocktail just to keep up with ’em all.
But don’t worry, I will spare you the juicy goss once the Lord above turns my water into delicious wine. So possibly never, possibly later? Who knows. My assumption is that you came here for the chai nog so I shall continue on with the recipe =D
Creamy, yummy, not eggy, just custardy with a hint of chai and honey to keep this lil bebe your drink of choice this ho-ho-holiday season (or in my case, replacing my nightly hot chocolate).
If you are feeling a little TOO lazy to make the eggnog, that’s totally okay. In fact I am too lazy about 99 percent of the time, every time. Stores are stocked with it however if you live near a Trader Joes I highly recommend their brand. And believe it or not, they also sell chai tea! So you’re basically done with your recipe. Just throw out the carton and act like it’s home made. And if you have a problem with lying then I don’t really know what to tell you. Get rid of that conscience and work it girlfriend.
Slow and Steady wins the race here. We want Creamy. We want chai-ee. We want comforty deliciousnessy.
Strain the mixture! Why? Not because we are fancy, but you are probably a little fancy if making homemade nog. We just don’t want scrambled egg nog. That’s disgusting. Or maybe you’re a baddie and need to up your protein intake. To each their own.
Steep the chai for 8 minutes and no longer. We don’t want no bitter baby. We want holiday cheer! We want Santa! We want high end skin care in our stocking! We want a cute furry puppy who has already been house trained! We want a hint of a lil somethin’ somethin’.
Want it boozy? No problem. Add whatever when you’re ready to devour. I’m sure rum or whiskey would make this taste fantastic.
Lastly for garnish add a cinnamon stick and ignite. Or you can substitute cinnamon for a cigar if you really wanna make the burn last and thoroughly enjoy second hand smoke.
OK. That is all.
